FAQs

  • The kimonos are made from a material called ‘Ramie’.

Ramie is a plant native in East Asia, and it has been used for clothing for millennia. (The original kimonos from Japan have been made from silk or ramie. Mummies in Egypt have been wrapped with ramie.)

It is remarkably robust, yet smooth and cosy - often called ‘vegan silk’.
We source the eco fibre in Indonesia, where it is hand-woven in a traditional way.

Ramie is a natural plant material, the kimonos are extremely comfortable on the skin,
airy, breathable and they become softer and softer, the more they are worn.

  • Because we love cacao. And because there is a free chocolate present with every kimono.

  • Easy! You can put the kimonos in the washing machine, together with the rest of your clothes (we recommend max. 40°C). For the shell kimono, it is best to use a washing net or to avoid the spin cycle to protect the shells.

Only exception: For the ‘Cacao Kimono’ (chocolate colour), which is dyed with natural plant colours, we recommend hand washing or the machine programme ‘hand wash / delicate’.

  • Yes, there is worldwide free shipping.

  • The kimonos are multi-functional. They are great for a casual, relaxed context, as well as more festive, formal occasions.

You can wear them at home, when you wake up, with a cup of cacao in bed, whilst reading or meditating, after taking a bath, at the beach, pool, in the spa, sauna & hamam, but you can also dress up:

Combine them with jewellery, jeans, heels or lipstick and you have the perfect party outfit!
