Material & Care

This product is made by a special plant fabric called "Ramie".

Ramie is a plant from the nettle family, native in East Asia.

Its leaves are heart-shaped ♡

This eco fibre is extracted from the stalk of the plant.

After a delicate drying process, the yarn gets spun.

Next step: the fabric is made by artisan hand-weaving on a traditional weaving loom.

Ramie is a vegan silk alternative
that is lighter and airier.

It is robust, yet very soft and silky, and extremely comfortable on the skin.

Washing is super easy:

You can wash this kimono at 40°C in your washing machine, together with your other clothes.

The kimono gets softer and softer,
the more you wash it and the
more you wear it!

“The Kat & Cacao kimonos are truly my favorite. I love that they’re hand woven in Bali by talented Indonesian women and that they’re soft and cosy and beautiful - I already have three in different colors and can’t wait to buy more!”
